Thankful
Thankful
Susanna Martinez
Hi boys and girls. It's my opportunity once again to bring you the story. Now, it just passed Thanksgiving, right? Just on Thursday. I don't know how many of you are helping mommy put away your Thanksgiving decorations. The pumpkins are being put away now. Pillows with pumpkins. And even other decorations that you may have used for Thanksgiving. Now, I don't know if your family took time to state things that you were grateful for this year. A lot of things happen right at the year. I wrote down a few verses that talk about thanksgiving. First Thessalonians 5:18 says, Give thanks in all the circumstances for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. This might be a little difficult at times.
The Psalms 118:24 says, This is the day that the Lord has made. us rejoice and be glad in it.
And Psalms 136:1 says, Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his love endures forever.
Now we should be grateful in all that we do and a few years back I had asked the church to pray for my student. His name is Eli. He was battling cancer. And this, the beginning of this month, his parents invited me to share in a very important day with him. I'm going to share you a few pictures of our experience that day.
Okay, here we go. So that was, that's his family, his sister. This is Eli and his parents. You'll see his older brothers coming up next. That's him walking in. The nurses were celebrating him. He's trying to reach the bell, but as you can see, daddy had to help him. I have a video.
You're a bit shy. Go ring the bell.
I'm to show you the deal. You can sign that ring this bell three times. It's told to clearly say, my treatment's done, this course is run, and I'm on my way.
Very important day for him. So here he is. He gets a congratulations. It's the end of his treatment. This other picture, that's his whole family there with him. His older brothers are now there. There I am underneath the bell he just rung. These are all the people that were there supporting him on this big important day. There he is with this trophy that they gave him.
And he sent a message for you all down in church. Thank you for praying for me. So he's thanking the church for praying for him. So from his family, thank you Downey Church for all the prayers that you elevated in his name. He's now starting a new chapter in his life, cancer-free. I hope none of our children get to experience that, but if they do, we know that God will be with them. Okay, let's bow our heads, boys and girls.
Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you dear Lord once again for this opportunity you've given us to come to your temple. Be with us dear Lord. Allow us to always have our hearts. They're full of gratitude for all the things that we do. Be with all those who are less fortunate. We are thankful for our families and our friends. Always keep us safe dear Lord, for we pray in your name, Amen.
Bye boys and girls, till next time.
