Good morning boys and girls and happy Sabbath. Welcome to today's children's story. Today's story is about family unity. Coming together to be united as one and stay together united.

Little shoes, big shoes, what does this have to do with family unity? Family love? Is coming together and taking a picture family unity? Here's my family, my mother, my father, my brothers and sisters. Is this what we call family unity? Look at our faces. Some of us even look like we're scared.

Well, mom and dad have a job to do. Proverbs 22 says, verse 6, train up a child in the way he should go. And when he is old, he will not depart from it. So their job, boys and girls, is to teach you the way. And how do they do that? By bringing us to God. Family members who love God take care of each other. Well,

Well, my mom and my dad did that. They would bring us together at night and we would all come together and we'd pray together and we'd go to church together. And so we learned the way with God in our hearts. We would grow together. We learned to work together. We were to learn together. We walk together and we learned to stay safe together. That is what we call family unity. And it's all for the honor and glory of God.

But see, boys and girls, it all starts with God. God needs to be the center of our family. It doesn't matter what shoe you're wearing. It matters that God leads your walk. So boys and girls, what shoe are you wearing today? Do you have God in your heart? This morning when you put on your shoes, did you think about God?

Baby shoes, fancy shoes, toddlers, dad's shoes, Snickers, sandals, it doesn't matter. All shoes need to be pointing to God. And if they are pointing to God, then we will allow God to lead our walk. Boys and girls, God is talking to you and me.

Dad and mom, they have a job to do. But you know what? You and I have a job to do as well. If you have a mom and a dad, we have a job to do. Our job, commandment number five says, honor your father and your mother. Love them, obey them, listen to them, learn from them. And may they help you learn more about God so that you can also allow God to lead your walk.

Little shoes, big shoes, doesn't matter. No boys and girls, baby shoes, fancy shoes, tall, it doesn't matter. All of your family shoes should be pointing to the center where God lives. God lives in our heart, but we need a relationship with God.

And our family needs to be together learning about God so that we can have a family that's united with God and through God. It all starts with God. It starts with God and it ends with God. In the morning, I put on my shoes and I should be thinking about God and asking God to lead my walk.

And if he does, and if I do that, he will give me kind words. He will give me the desire to help. I'll give hugs with love. I'll respect others, my family at home, my friend family, my church family, and even strangers. When we put on our shoes in the morning, the first thing we need to do is think of God and ask God to show us the way and lead our walk. And that night when I take my shoes off, I should be saying thank you, God, for leading my walk, because it all starts and ends with God in our hearts to bring our family united.

Let us pray. Heavenly Father, we thank you, Father God, for this message of walking, but walking with God in our hearts. Help each and every boy and girl here in our church, Lord. Help them, Lord, and help us as adults to be able to put on our shoes with God in our heart. And may God lead our walk so that we can stay and remain as a family united, all for the honor and glory of God. In Jesus' precious name we pray, amen.

Boys and girls, we'll see you next time. Have a great week.
