Pastor Mitch was a sheet metal worker when God called him into the ministry. He quit his job and went to the seminary. This was fairly difficult as he was already married to Ginny and had small children. Mitch graduated from Andrews University and he later got his D. Min.  Mitch and Ginny now have three adult children and many grandchildren. Mitch has been at Downey since 1997.

Hatzuko is married to Tomas. They have two young boys. Hatzuko is also our Adventurer Leader.

Bill Aumack is currently serving as the First Elder and Worship Leader. Bill was raised in an Adventist home and has been a member of Downey Adventist Church since 1985. Bill is a senior engineer with Northrop Grumman. He's married to Linda and has two boys.

Gustavo is our head deacon. Gustavo was not raised in a Christian family. He came to know the Lord when he was already an adult. However, he hasn't let that slow down his walk with the Lord. He's married to Lourdes and they have two adult children.

Kelly Gonzalez is our head deaconess. She's married to Rick and they have two adult children. Kelly has been a Seventh-day Adventist all her life and she was baptized when she was 11 years old. She's been attending the Downey Church for about 13 years.
